Future Skin Oil-Free Foundation

I have loved this formula for the last 20 years and always came back to it when I strayed. It was light, buildable, dewy, plumping, and soothing to my dry, sensitive skin due to the addition of aloe vera. The new formula is no longer dewy or plumping. Instead, it feels like a satin-textured BB cream that is best for oily or normal skin, but not dry skin. I was so sad when the family sold the line, because when lines are sold by their owners, the reformulations are usually a step down from the original. I had hoped this would be my forever cosmetic line, but it isn't now because they've ruined this formula. I may be switching to Westman Atelier or another line willing to cater to drier skins.

I have normal-to-dehydrated late 30s skin and wanted to find something lightweight and oil-free for hot, humid days. Formula-wise it’s solid… not sticky or greasy, but also not mattefying or drying. Right in the middle. It has just enough coverage to unify the skin and tone down redness and hyperpigmentation, and it leaves a nice blurred finish. I can see why it has a cult following. However, the shade range - even with the expanded shades - leaves a lot of people out, myself included. I’m a fair-to-light olive and have to err on the yellow side of foundations. Alabaster is too light, shell is too dark, and everything in between is way too pink or peach. If the finish were perfect I’d buy two shades and mix them, but it’s missing something… I like a satin finish and wish this did more to leave skin looking plump and hydrated. It doesn’t make it look dry per se, but it falls short of satin and doesn’t add that suppleness I look for.

I was excited when I heard of the reformulation and the addition of the extra shades and the upgrade of the jar but unfortunately I am underwhelmed after buying the new jar. I had the shade Cream and it was and still is too yellow-orange/warm, Nude is definitely too pink, the depth works but not the undertones, so I still can't find a shade that works. There is not much I can say about the formula change, it's still very similar to the way it was but somehow perhaps less natural looking or heavier than it was perhaps, more matte, less natural, I can't quite put my finger on it. The jar itself is now made out of glass and is much heavier , the cap is still a light plastic and the bottom and the top feel like they don't belong together because of such difference in feel and material, at least before the bottom was also plastic and it was lighter and wouldn't break if dropped and was easier to travel with and the bottom and top felt like they belong together, it's even harder to get the components to close. Honestly, I wish they didn't just make the jar made out of glass and I wish they had added a significant amount of new shades.

Great formula! Unlike anything I tried even form Chanel. The shade match worked well online even thought k had concerns. But the jar is terrible. It’s bulky, glass which is great for storage but fear of breaking. It’s messy to apply. And the little plastic cap/roper is wasting product each time. I had to stop putting it back on. Otherwise great formula, conceals well, feels great! I also hate dipping my fingers in there each time so been using little spatula i had from Tatcha cream. Please fix packaging, include spatula. I would rebuy for the product but would keep complaining about the packaging!
