Ordering
How can I track my order?
- We will email you as items in your order ship, or if there are updates on the status of your order.
- If you have a Nordstrom.com profile, sign in to your account. You'll see which purchases are on the way and get to the shipment tracking updates.
- If you don't have an account, find your order number, then go to order information and enter it.
For international orders, please call 1.319.846.4140 or check your order history on Borderfree.
How do I know if ordering online is secure?
To help determine if your connection is secure, look at the status bar of your browser window. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) should be active, which helps to protect the transmission of information through the website. You should also verify that the URL for the page you are on includes "https" at the beginning. Most browsers offer additional security alerts as well.
What happens when my item is backordered?
Items that aren't available to ship when an order is placed are on backorder and will ship at a later date. We'll provide you with an approximate ship date when you add the item to your bag and when you check out. Backorder ship dates are approximate, and we'll email you if the date changes. Please note that, while your credit card will be authorized on the date you place your order, you will not be charged until the item ships.
Can you gift wrap my order?
At this time, gift-wrap options are not available for online orders shipped to you. We do offer free gift wrap for in-store purchases and online orders picked up in store. Just ask for a DIY gift kit or signature wrapping at the store.

- Email Updates: Get the scoop by signing up for specialized email updates. Whether you're interested in fashion trends, menswear, womenswear or sale items, we've got the email update for you. You can unsubscribe from our newsletters at any time by clicking Unsubscribe at the bottom of any email we've sent you.
- Address Book: For a true time-saver, fill your address book with your family's and friends' addresses so that you never have to enter them again in the future.
- Purchase History: If you've placed an order, you can determine its status, plus check on the order dates and order numbers for items you've purchased in the past.
Payments & Taxes
What methods of payment can I use?
Nordstrom accepts the following:
- Credit Cards: Nordstrom Visa®, Nordstrom credit card, Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express and Discover Network.
- Nordstrom Gift Cards: To use online, enter the Gift Card number, along with the access code, in the payment section in Checkout.
At this time, we cannot accept cash, CODs, checks, money orders or gift certificates for online purchases. If you have any questions, please call us at 1.888.282.6060.
Do you accept contactless payment?
Yes! We accept contactless payment at all our Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom stores in the U.S. It's safe and easy. Just hold your tap-to-pay card or mobile device over the card-reader screen to initiate payment.
Nordstrom cardmembers can also shop card-free in stores. Just text 'Get My Card' to 85224 for a QR code shopping pass. Message and data rates may apply.
We accept only the following contactless payments:
• Contactless credit and debit cards printed with this symbol:
- Mobile-device digital wallets.
Please note: Nordstrom credit and debit cards can only be added to Apple Pay® and Google Pay™ digital wallets. - Nordstrom card QR code shopping pass.
How can I pay for international orders?
Nordstrom Visa®, Visa and MasterCard are accepted for international orders. Nordstrom retail cards, Nordstrom Gift Cards and Nordstrom Notes are not accepted at this time. For more details, see international orders.
Do you offer a customer loyalty program?
Yes! You can become a member of The Nordy Club (joining is easy and it's free!). As a Member or Cardmember, you'll enjoy exciting benefits, plus earn points for every purchase you make with us (and those points add up to Nordstrom Notes that you can spend on anything you want). Learn more.
Will you charge sales tax on my order?

How do I use my Nordstrom Gift Card?
Nordstrom Gift Cards and eGift Cards don't expire, have no fees and are redeemable in stores and online at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack and HauteLook. Just present your Gift Card to any salesperson at the time of purchase. If you are purchasing online, your Gift Card must have an access code. Gift Cards may not be returned, applied as payment on any account or redeemed for cash, except where required by law. If lost, stolen or damaged, Gift Cards can be replaced for the remaining value with satisfactory proof of purchase. To use a Gift Card or eGift Card online, enter the card number and access code during Checkout. To use an eGift Card in stores, you can display the eGift Card on your mobile device to scan it or you can print out the card and bring it to any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack to scan at the time of purchase. How do I check my Gift Card balance?
To verify the remaining balance, call 1.877.283.4045, inquire at any store register or check online.
How do I use my Nordstrom Notes?
Nordstrom Notes feature a Note number and an access code. Enter these numbers in the payment section when you check out online. Nordstrom Notes can also be redeemed online by calling 1.888.282.6060, or at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store. If you have a remaining value on your Nordstrom Note, please keep it to apply toward future purchases.
Billing & Charges
What is a Credit Card Authorization?
Once your order is placed, a pre-authorization (pending charge/hold) for the full amount will be applied to your credit card. Depending on your financial institution, this pre-authorization is usually removed automatically within 7 days.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card will be charged for the cost of each item as it ships. You may see multiple credit card charges if you have an order that contains multiple items that are shipped at different times.
When will I receive my refund?
All refunds will be credited to your original form of payment or a Nordstrom Gift Card.
If you return an item to a Nordstrom store, the refunded amount will be applied to your credit card. Depending on your financial institution, you may see that refund within 3–5 business days. If you return an item to us by U.S. mail, we usually receive it within 10–14 business days. Once the item is received, we will process your refund. Depending on your financial institution, you may see that refund on your credit card within 3–5 business days.
• If you’re returning a gift, you’ll receive a Gift Card with the credited amount.
• If you paid with a Gift Card, you’ll receive an eGift Card via email with the credited amount.
• For faster returns, bring your return items to any Nordstrom store. Find a store.

Can I cancel an order?
You can request to cancel your order within a short time period after placing your order. To cancel your order, sign in to your account, find the order in your purchases, click "Details" and then click "Cancel Order" to start the request process. If the "Cancel Order" button is disabled, the window to cancel has passed and your order is not eligible for cancellation. We're unable to cancel an order beyond this time period.
Your payment method will not be charged if we are able to cancel your order. If we're unable to cancel your order, your payment method will be charged and your items will be shipped to you. We always have free returns by mail and in store.

How much will it cost to ship my order?
We offer four types of shipping, which vary in cost. See shipping prices.
Can I return or exchange my purchase if I don't like it?
Yes. For information, see our Returns & Exchanges policy. For orders shipped internationally, you'll need to contact us and ask for a Return Merchandise Authorization form.
What do I do if I didn't receive a shipment?
If you're missing items or shipments, contact us within 30 days of ship date.
How do I ship to an international address?
International shopping for Nordstrom products is offered through Borderfree, a global e-commerce provider.
When you place an international order, your transaction will be with Borderfree, but Nordstrom is happy to assist with customer service needs.

You can return items by mail or at any Nordstrom store. We do not accept returns of Nordstrom or Nordstrom.com merchandise at Nordstrom Rack locations.

How do I return items by mail? (U.S.)
If you have an account or an order number, you can start your return now. If you don't have an account or you're missing order information, you can start your return here. Send in your item(s) using the postage-paid U.S. return label. Your return is usually processed within 10–14 business days.
How do I return items in Nordstrom stores? (U.S.)
Simply bring the item(s) you'd like to return to a Nordstrom store along with your receipt and original form of payment. Any salesperson can assist you with your return. Find a store. Please note that we do not accept returns of Nordstrom or Nordstrom.com merchandise at Nordstrom Rack locations.
We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of making our customers happy. We stand behind our goods and services and want customers to be satisfied with them. We'll always do our best to take care of customers—our philosophy is to deal with them fairly and reasonably. We have long believed that when we treat our customers fairly, they in turn are fair with us. We do apply returns to the tender it was purchased with. If we choose to provide a refund and no record of sale is available, we will ask for personal identification and a return will be provided at current price on a Nordstrom Gift Card.
Coupons, Promotions & Sales
How often does Nordstrom have sale events?
Our best sale of the year—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—occurs every July/August. This event has become legendary among Nordstrom customers who enjoy outstanding savings on the most exciting new fall merchandise, along with plenty of stuff for summer. We also have a Half-Yearly Sale each spring and fall, usually in May and December. These much-anticipated events, along with three additional seasonal sales, offer great deals on clothing, shoes, accessories and more for men, women and kids.
What kinds of promotions do you offer?
We like to reward our customers with special promotional offers. Available promotions will be indicated on relevant pages of our website. We offer:
- Gifts with Purchase: Some of our most popular promotions are complimentary gifts with purchase, from cosmetics and fragrances to hats and golf balls. These promotions are typically associated with a specific brand, item or minimum order total. If shipping to multiple destinations, the gift will automatically ship to the billing address.
- Buy & Save: This promotion allows our customers to receive a discount by purchasing multiples of one item or specified group of items. The discount will apply in the Checkout process.
- Employee Discount: Nordstrom employees may enter their employee numbers in the promotion code field during the Checkout process.
How do I use a promotion code?
- Promotion Code: You may qualify for a promotion that is associated with a specific code. Promotion codes can be found on the promotion or product details page. To retrieve your gift, enter the code in the promotion code field in the payment section during the Checkout process. Promotion codes are not case sensitive.
- Automatic: Many promotions do not require a promotion code and will automatically be added to your order during the Checkout process. You can see that the promotion has been added at the bottom of the Checkout page.
Are there any restrictions for promotions?
Promotions may be limited to purchases from participating brands, a specified group of items or a minimum order price. All promotions are available for a limited time during indicated dates, and only while supply lasts. Promotional offers do not apply to international orders.
Does Nordstrom offer coupons?
We do not offer Nordstrom coupons for sales or discounts. Any references to "Nordstrom Coupon," "Nordstrom Coupon Code" or "Nordstrom Discount Code" on other sites are not valid. However, we do offer promotions on selected items.

Does your site use pop-up advertising?
No, Nordstrom.com does not participate in pop-up advertising. If you are seeing pop-up ads on your computer screen, it is most likely due to an adware program installed on your hard drive. Many of these programs are designed to install themselves with little to no warning while you browse shopping, coupon and music websites.
How can I contact Nordstrom about a potentially fraudulent website or email?
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of websites and emails that try to lure customers into providing personal information. Often these emails or websites solicit charitable donations under the name of reputable companies or offer Gift Cards in return for information. Nordstrom does not solicit charitable donations in this way, or sponsor these websites, nor are we affiliated with the site operators. If you are aware of any potentially fraudulent websites or emails, please forward the information to onlinefraud@nordstrom.com or call us at 1.888.282.6060 so that we can follow up.
