Lisane Slide Sandal (Women)

I've been wearing Mephisto sandals for years and was excited when I saw the Lisan Slide as I needed a summer shoe to wear with maxi dresses or crop pants. I wear a 10 normally but have found in this brand that I often wear an 11. They were too small and my heel hit the back raised ridge making them very uncomfortable. I wondered if the leather would have stretched with a bit of wear and my foot would have slid forward for a proper fit, but for this price point, I wasn't willing to risk it. I returned them.

The shoe is very cute. Unfortunately the sizing was not. The back of the shoe box says US9 is a 40. The side of box says it’s a 39. The back of the box is Mephisto’s recommendation. When I tries the shoe on, it was too short ( since a 39 is an 8 1/2). They were out of the orange so I have reordered a navy pair in a 40. There seems to be something amiss with the translation to US sizing on the side tags I.e. a size 9 is a 39.

I wanted to love these. I typically wear an 8, tried on the 38 and 39, and even the 39 barely fit and was a bit narrow. They weren't comfortable walking around the house for a while, and hurt my foot. And, for this price, I expect arch support and there is none. Too bad, because they look good and are lightweight and stable.

For Mephisto, it’s a pretty stylish shoe. The wedge heel tapers in slightly towards the base giving it a sleeker look (less blocky). The slit in the top of the upper really helps the shoe look more stylish and less blocky and it makes the shoe much more comfortable. Just that simple slit makes it so that the upper doesn’t push on the top of your foot so much. Very comfortable and nice. Seemed to fit well for someone who usually wears 6 but sometimes buys a little bigger.

5 for fun. 3 for fit. I agree with all who note that the fit is off with these slides. I think they are short btwn the arch & the heel. I'm btwn a 7.5 & 8 - always. Is the 8 too short? Maybe with the curved footbed edging? I ordered the 9 to compare. Too long in the toe, good in heel, but off in the arch. The 9 is returned. REALLY want to love these. On the fence about returning the 8's as well, esp. after reading I am not the only person questioning this fit. :(
