This is it, this is the one! I’ve worn some competitive rain jackets. This one beats them hands down. Fits great, looks better, and repels the water like a champ! It’s extremely packable, lightweight and mobile. Wear it during any activity and you’ll have your range of motion with no hindrance! This officially lives in my pack waiting for its chance to show the weather who’s in charge! The only downfall, keep in mind this is like anything. South Alabama is unforgiving when it comes to temp and humidity. This jacket shields you from the weather but traps some heat. Overall this is it, the rest of my rain jackets are on the back burner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been putting the Marmot PreCip Evo Flex Rain Jacket through its paces lately, and it has easily earned a permanent spot in my gear closet. Between logging wet-weather miles on forest trails and standing on soggy sidelines during my son and daughter’s cross country meets, this jacket has been tested in full-on downpours. The fully adjustable hood cinches down tight to keep rain out without blocking vision, and the pit zips are essential for dumping heat when pushing the pace on the trail. If you need a reliable, comfortable rain jacket that transitions effortlessly from active trail use to everyday outdoor events, the PreCip Evo Flex is a stellar choice.

After using the jacket hiking and cycling for a couple of weeks, i’m mostly impressed. The jacket feels more protective than other “stretchy” rain jackets i’ve tried, and I never got the sense that there would be any limit on what it can handle. It feels almost as solid as my 3L ski jacket while being much lighter. Good pit zips more than make up for the fabric not being that breathable. The combination of the stretch and the cut gives me full range of motion at the shoulders - good enough to comfortably cycle or climb in. I’m 5’9” and 145 lbs and the medium fits pretty well while leaving plenty of room for layers. The only thing I didn’t like is that the inner coating feels really clammy and rubbery against skin. you really have to wear at least a long sleeve base layer underneath. This isn’t at all an issue in colder weather, but on warm-but-rainy days when i’m just throwing it over a t shirt it would not be my first pick. Overall, this is a really solid all around jacket. It doesn’t excel at any one thing, but it’s light enough and featured enough to work well in most situations that you’d need a rain jacket in. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Marmot PreCip Evo Flex is a great competitor for the perfect all-round shell. Using the shell in mild rain was as expect, no rain and wind seeped through the lining and pockets. My only complaint, which isnt even marmots fault, is that the sleeve length were too long. Im 5’3” wearing a small so make of that as you will. I understand that Marmot is sizing for the mass majority and the sizing isn’t going to fit everyone perfectly. The pit-zips were really useful to cool the body once i started getting hot, and even though the zip itself isnt lined with waterproofing material, there is a protective flap that folds over it. I was not able to test the materials long term durability but I do feel a little worried about it ripping when snagging on sharp objects. I did not test its chafing since i didn’t get a chance to backpack.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got the jacket just in time for a rainy hike on the coast during vacation. I was a bit worried at first that the texture on the inside of the coat was going to be uncomfortable because when it's cold it feels rubbery. That wasn't the case at all, as soon as it warmed up it almost felt like the coat disappeared. It did a great job with built up heat during my hike and during subsequent long walks with my dog in the evening it kept me from getting cold with the slightly colder weather. The hook and pockets did their job. The fully open pit zips were helpful when it started to heat up but they did this weird thing where when opened the jacket seemed to rotate a bit and the zippers ended up a bit more forward facing as opposed to under my arms but this didn't allow any noticable amount of rain into the jacket. I did get an XL as opposed to my normal large size so that could have something to do with it. Overall incredibly happy with his well the Precip jacket felt during use. This jacket would work well for just about any outdoor activity in wet weather. It was light enough for any activity, had a good amount of stretch, great water resistance, and excellent breathability. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
