The Pencil High Waist Jeans

I always have pretty good luck with the fit of Madewell. I’m 5’2”, 110 lbs and I ordered a 27. I’ve been wearing 26 waist but my waist has grown a little lately so I decided to be comfy and go up a size (I’m 74 so I forgive myself). The high waist was just right, and I liked the soft rather stretchy fabric. I did have to hem them. I wish they came in different lengths. Overall, I am very pleased.

These jeans looked great initially, but the quality doesn’t match the price. After just three months of wear, holes have formed at the pocket corners and they are unwearable. I’ve had significantly cheaper jeans last years without this issue. I spent more on this pair of jeans thinking they would last longer, and am tremendously disappointed. Absolutely cannot recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I maybe need to try a size larger. I wear a 26 normally, and even in other Madewell jeans, but this was tight across the abdomen and at the waist. The leg fit was nice, but it was just somehow "off" in the abdomen and waist. So maybe I'll try a 27 after I get the credit to my card for this return.I want to like them because they seem to be a nice alternative to skinny jeans--not so skinny.

I was in search of a good modern skinny jean. I was excited to find these in the store, and they were long enough for me, I’m 5’9. I’m typically a 25/26 depending on stretch. The 26 fit best but we’re still a little tight around the waist and not super comfortable to move around in. 27 was too big. I bought them and wore them around the house and decided to return them and get the Paige Gemma cigarette jeans instead. I like those much better! I prefer a softer stretchier jean. I gave it a 3 star because I did like the way they looked on.
