Water Resistant Hooded Down Coat

Finally I found a down coat that fits well and keeps me warm in the windy and chilly weather. I really like this coat. I am m 5ft 2in. tall and 117 lbs. The Small fits me with a little room for extra layers. I like the large sized hood that keeps the rain and wind away from my face. There is a drawcord toggle inside for waistline adjustment. I am a city girl living in South Dakota for winter/spring clinicals. The temperature rating on this jacket was so reassuring but really stood out in comparison to other coats I ordered; Cotopaxi Solazo 600 Fill Power Down Hooded Parka and Outdoor Research Stormcraft Waterproof 700 Fill Power Down Parka. The closest comparison was Outdoor Research Coze 700 Fill Power Down Parka but the fill was significantly lighter than this jacket. Honestly I had to get a medium the small was a bit too snug when layering thick hoodies underneath. My measurements 40" hips, 28" waist, 34b breast

I have tried on several down coats but no luck until I purchased this one. This one feels nice and keeps me warm in the teen's temperature. The hood is large that provides extra coverage over the head. It's thick but not heavy nor bulky. I am 5'2" and 115 lbs. I purchased a Small. The fitting looks pretty close as picture shown on model. I think XS might be more body form fitting, but I prefer a little roomy so that I can put on extra layers if necessary.

This coat is absolutely fantastic! I live in a really remote place where there are no stores, so I order from Nordstrom online a lot, but I have never written a review. However I read them all the time so I know how helpful they can be, and I had to add my two cents this time! The single degree temperatures of this winter finally pushed me to buy a coat that didn't need extra down vests or liners added and layered. I tried three and this one is the clear winner. First of all, when you slip it on its like a big warm cloud that is so cozy you don't want to take it off. There are several well thought out features that I love: the extended cuffs and super puffy hood make a world of difference when you're out there in the freezing wind. And the pockets tuck in behind the down layer, not on top! They thought of everything here. Lastly, I will add that this is a really substantial coat. It will likely be more than I might need on a some winter days but that's ok, I have other lighter coats! I generally wear a medium, but I ordered a large because I wanted it to be a bit roomy, and I'm really glad I did. Had I ordered a Med I would have had to exchange it. This one is roomy and cozy at the same time. I absolutely LOVE it! It's a genuine relief to have such a warm coat! :-)
