I actually bought mine!
Unlike most of this reviewers who were given this item, I actually bought it. Today.
I’ve owned the hair dryer since it first launched years ago and it’s great! Definitely worth the money. THIS new & improved version though? So much better than the original- and the original is pretty flipping amazing.
I bought this for the advanced tech, specifically the scalp feature. As I’m now in my early 50s, and with eczema genetically passed down in my family, it’s more important for me to care for my scalp moreso then my hair. While my scalp isn’t sensitive per se, I do have eczema and I’ve noticed irritating those areas with my current Dyson hair dryer makes it worse.
It’s unfortunate THIS one does not come with a case like my original one did. For $500 you’d think they would.

Buyer beware of returned products
Purchased one of these last week. Received my package this past weekend and it has clearly been open, used and abused for MONTHS. Missing dryer accessories (x2), ripped paper, security seal and instructions, scratches all along the handle and the filter is disgustingly full of someone else’s house. Quality control for Nordstrom returns should be ashamed of themselves for reselling. Now I have to waste my time to drive to return.

Buyer beware of returned products
Purchased one of these last week. Received my package this past weekend and it has clearly been open, used and abused for MONTHS. Missing dryer accessories (x2), ripped paper, security seal and instructions, scratches all along the handle and the filter is disgustingly full of someone else’s house. Quality control for Nordstrom returns should be ashamed of themselves for reselling. Now I have to waste my time to drive to return.

Beware ordering this from Nordys
Ordered this for my girlfriend who would have been beyond excited for it. OnTrac either didn’t deliver it or it was stolen and Nordstrom on two occasions refused to assist in any way, being told multiple times they could not deliver. I purposefully ordered via Nordstrom because of their customer service that exceeds all warranties, that service was missing entirely from this product. Losing a long time customer.

A bit of a disappointment for the high price ...
Maybe over time my opinion will change, but I was hoping to save on drying time, and it really is the same as any other hair dryer I have used. Also, Dyson should really sell all of these dryers with a storage case. The attachments are bulky and need a place to be stored.

Poor quality
Unfortunately, this hairdryer was defective and Dyson customer service is the worst. After using it for about a minute, it just shuts down and won’t start again for 10 minutes.

Not made for thick or curly hair
I was excited about the new technology, but the issue is you can’t turn off the start stop setting or the scalp heat adjusting setting so if you need to go from curly to straight- it’s almost impossible. I think this will do a good job in drying hair but it will not give you a sleek nice blow dry because it will never get hot enough at the top..the original Dyson is much much better to go from 2b/ 3a hair to straight. I had to return it because it was very annoying to do my hair with it, looks so puffy and frizzy and it took me an extra 20 mins with the start/stop technology .
