- Pause detect knows when you’ve paused styling. When no motion is detected, the machine will automatically switch off the heater and reduce airflow. When it’s picked back up, it’s reactivated.
- Capsule illumination changes color to indicate what heat setting you are in, so you always know how much heat you’re using. Clear endcap lets you see Dyson’s pioneering technology at work.
Key controls:
- Scalp protect button: When ON, automatically lowers heat when the machine is close to the scalp. When OFF, allows you to manually choose your heat setting.
- Three precise airflow settings: High for fast drying and styling, Medium for regular drying, Low for gentle drying and diffusing
- Four precise heat settings: 212°F for fast drying and styling 176°F for regular drying 140°F for gentle drying and diffusing 82°F constant cool to set your style
- Instant control with 82°F cold shot to set your hair after styling.

- Wave+Curl diffuser is 2-in-1 diffuser: Dome mode draws air into the dome and infuses it through the hair to enhance natural waves or curls for a more defined finish.⁴ Diffuse mode gently disperses airflow through longer prongs for voluminous curls and coils.
- Gentle air attachment evenly diffuses airflow for fast, yet gentle styling in Scalp protect mode.
- Styling concentrator is re-engineered with a wider, thinner blade of air for precision styling. Compatible with Scalp protect mode.

How to use:
- Start with clean, wet hair.
- For a smooth look, use the Gentle air attachment in Scalp protect mode to rough dry roots before styling. Section hair and use the Styling concentrator and a round brush to style one section at a time. Once hair is dry, use Flyaway attachment to create a smooth, shiny finish.
- Enhance your natural curl pattern with two modes using the Wave+Curl diffuser. Separate the prongs from the center of the diffuser for Dome mode to create natural waves or use in Diffuse mode for textured curls.
