Details & care

What it is: A lightweight, transformative primer that creates a smooth canvas, while helping control the appearance of shine for extended makeup wear.

What it does: Discover instant mattification with a lightweight makeup primer that gently glides over skin with a transformative water-gel texture and then breaks into a velvety, soft matte finish. It instantly fills in uneven, textured skin and prepares it for smooth foundation application, while maintaining makeup wear and controlling the appearance of shine. The formula features NARS exclusive Climate Balancing Technology that helps retain hydration in dry climates and absorb excess moisture in humid ones, while preventing sweat excess sweat and sebum from breaking down makeup.

How to use: Smooth a small amount over the entire face prior to makeup application to even skin's surface and extend foundations wear. The primer can be worn alone to create a smooth complexion with a soft-matte finish.

This has a very strong chemical smell and broke my skin out in an itchy rash within an hour of wear

Not for Oily or Combination Skin

I tried this since the Estee Lauder matte primer, which I loved and used for years, was discontinued. This one from Nars must be made for dry skin. It feels good and is hydrating, but I am a shiny mess about 3 hours after applying matte liquid foundation and matte setting powder. So disappointed. Back to my search.
