Wide Collar Belted Alpaca & Wool Wrap Coat

I love this coat. It is so soft and heavy. They only had a medium left but it fit me pretty good. I have wide shoulders, really long arms and narrow or no hips. Most of the times I have to buy bigger coats to fit my wider back & long arms but then from the ribs down it is so huge that it looks funny but this coat wasn't like that. It looks lovely on me and it is so beautifully made with the most incredible material. I will buy this coat in a different color

I’d been eyeing this coat for a while, delaying the purchase because of its price, but finally took the leap and was glad I did. I will spare you all the accolades for its looks and versatility, as you can learn that from lots of other reviews, and instead focus on the sizing, to hopefully help you make the right choice. I consider myself having an hourglass figure (hips only slightly wider than chest, and the waist narrower than both), and modestly endowed on the top. Since it was impossible to try this coat on in a physical store, I had to make my best guess about sizing to avoid returning, re-ordering, and risking that it would be sold out in my color and size. Going back and forth between two sizes, I turned to Sentaler online sizing assistance. They were extremely helpful, with someone physically measuring various part of the coat in their Canadian store and reporting back the results. The size I got in the end was perfect, and here is my best assessment by comparison. The closest fit match is that of Mackage Mai coat, which Nordstrom also sells. I found the fit to be virtually identical, with Mackage having slightly more overlap and possibly ever so slightly looser sleeves, probably due to the fact that it is not lined (Sentaler is). Mackage Mai coat is easier to find and try on in the U.S. stores. If you have that opportunity, order the same size in Sentaler that fits you best in Mackage.
