School Uniform Short Sleeve Ponte Dress

Bought this dress to wear to the office but it has a strange design. the draping is nice and fit is true to the description, but the box pleats at the back of the dress don't sit flat and are positioned immediately below the zipper (which ends at the waist). I ordered a looser fit and the pleats flaired out as I was walking around in the dress - both front and back. I can live with the flair at the front, but not the back. the hunt continues for a simple, versatile wear to work dress.

I was super excited about this dress. It seemed like the perfect base piece that could be jazzed up with statement jewelry, shoes, or a blazer. From the front, the dress is perfect. The neckline is modest, the waist is tapered but not tight, and the pleat adds a bit of interest. The problem is the back. I have a 3-D posterior, and the pleat on the back sits oddly. It looks like I have box sitting on my backside. At first I thought the dress was just sitting wrong, however the odd shape is caused by the way the dress falls on me. The bottom line is, if you have a prominent posterior, this is not the dress for you.

I purchased an adult size 0---great fit; however, I am very disappointed in some of the construction. There is "puckering" in the back of the dress at the point where the zipper and the waist seam meet. For some reason an extra piece of fabric is sewn in at this point so that, and the fact that the fabric is a little stiff to begin with ( because of the blend --no cotton at all in this garment), creates an ugly pucker that cannot even be steamed out. Such a shame for otherwise a simple, versatile dress that I would wear happily. It may just hang in my closet.
