My husband already has Mephisto buckle sandals purchased before a trip to the Mediterranean where we were walking all day and he said they were the most comfortable shoes he's ever had. For Valentines Day, I gave him this pair because they are dressier and, again, he loves them. A couple of years ago he had a case of gout and Mephisto shoes have soft leather and padded areas that will adjust to a sore foot. He can walk for hours in these shoes and they look terrific. I highly recommend them.

These sandals are way to wide. I had to order size 10 when I am 11 1/2 double ee. But when I tried them on the length was okay but the width was to wide. Also the soles are all ready showing a lot of wear. When walking they seem very hard, The sole does not give at all. Not all comfortable.

For an all-around sandal, these are perfect. Quality is top-notch, a hallmark of Mephisto. Recently purchased the black model to complement the brown copies I have. I had the brown ones for almost 10 years and wear them only in the summer months. Even after 10 years of reasonable use, they still look new thanks to the highest quality materials and construction. Note there is no hook & loop on these, which is a requirement for any shoe in my collection. The footbed is very comfortable and has a suede surface that helps provide friction if they get wet or your feet sweat a lot. Like all Mephisto shoes, the sole is very durable and should last many years. The black pair had an odd chemical smell to them out of the box but that has gone away after wearing them twice. It could be something to fix the black color from transferring to your feet or socks- which works because I have not seen any dye transfer from these. Sizing is a bit large. I wear a size US 11 in all other Mephisto shoes but only need a US 10 for the sandals-- and then I still have plenty of room in the toe area. The heel contours nicely so you can actually run in these, if you had to. Mephisto prides itself on their shoes being comfortable the first time you put them on and not after a break-in period. And even though these are sandals, the first-wear fit it perfect-- you can wear them an entire day right out of the box. The styling may not be for everyone but I prefer something more than a flip-flop and don't like the Greek style.

As beautiful as these sandals are. they are very uncomfortable on the top of my feet, even though I was wearing sox. The pattern of the straps interweaving is what causes the trouble. I returned them in the original box using the mailing label and information form I printed from your web site, since these were not included in your original package.
