XT-4 OG Sneaker (Men)

I purchased the XT-4 shoes after trying the XT-6. The XT-6 was too narrow for me in the toe box, but the XT-4 has more room for the toes. I wear a 9.5 or a 10 depending on the shoe type, and I went with the 10 for the XT-4. I love the lacing system and how secure the foot feels in the shoes. The challenge I find with the XT-4 is how narrow the heel cup is. I find that the inside of my heel rubs where it transitions to the arch of the foot. I tried tightening the laces, but it didn't help. The shoe is just designed narrow and rigid there. I will try an aftermarket insert with better padding in for the heel to see if it will help. It's a little disappointing that the shoes cost so much and then having to spend an additional 20% for an aftermarket insert to "try" to get them to fit better (no guarantees). I will probably try a different version of Salomon because I like a lot of what the shoes have to offer. This particular model, however, just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.
