No. 5 Bond Maintenance^™ Conditioner

Well I’ve tried a lot of expensive shampoos and conditioners before spent a lot of money for them to sit and not use them this is the first time I’ve used this product and it’s absolutely wonderful it makes my hair shine that I have lost through the years and you only need a little bit of both the shampoo and the conditioner so even though the cost is high this will definitely last a while I think this is my new shampoo and conditioner.

I posted a similar review under No. 3, but wanted to post here as well. I have thick, near-waist length hair that is relatively healthy but needed some TLC after not being able to get it cut at a salon for almost a year due to the closures for covid. I've also been extremely lucky to have never had an allergy or an issue with a hair product causing any sensitivities with my scalp. However, after the initial use with No 3 , it felt like my scalp was extremely tight and it felt like I had a scalp sunburn. The texture of my hair was affected as well; it looked like I had fried it with a hot hairdryer. In addition to the scalp irritation & texture change, that week I noticed I was shedding more hair than normal. I chalked these issues up to a shampoo I had used at the same time as the No. 3, so I ordered the Olaplex Shampoo & Conditioner. The second time I tried to use No. 3 again (this time with the Olaplex Shampoo & Conditioner) I had the same results, but this time my hair look severely dry & damaged, and my scalp was so sensitive I had my husband examine it only to find it was indeed red and in spots there were small dry scabs. That week I lost a considerable amount of hair (no breakage; the root tips were still attached). I searched through these reviews & didn't see anyone who had these issues I experienced, so I attributed it to the change in seasons or to hormones and decided to try it twice more. However, the next two times I received the same results. I didn't understand how it wasn't working for me until I found conversation threads on reddit & a sephora community page where I read other users were having similar issues to mine (scalp burning, coarse texture, and excessive shedding). I post in hope that if you do have the same issues, you won't attribute it to other factors, but discontinue using the products and know that others have posted reviews here & elsewhere regarding the same issues.
