New York Leather East/West Tote

. . . not functional. I have long admired this tote. I have one other DeMillier bag and love it. I purchased this inthe Stone Gray Lizard. It is a gorgeous bag and beautifully made. However, it is heavy when empty. If you fill it with all you would carry in a tote, you cannot carry it. While the straps seem long enough to carry on your shoulder, you cannot do that if the bag is full. So you have to hand carry it . . . and it is super heavy if you have a laptop and such in it. It was just not functional for me, so I returned it.

I bought my bag directly from DeMeiller. I saw Nordstrom carried it. There’s a reason you can’t review DeMeiller handbags on their site. It’s not the quiet luxury I was looking for to replace my Neverfull. I wanted something that closed at the top as I use my larger bags for travel. This bag won’t stay shut with its small, ineffective snaps. I contacted DeMeiller. They actually asked me to send a video of the bag unsnapping. Sure, as I’m rushing to catch a flight or meeting somehow I’ll magically record it. Ridiculous. I’m selling mine at a deep discount because I’m never going to use it again. I don’t want anything falling out of my bag or lifted by a thief. I have another one of their bags not quite up to the promised quality. If your looking for a large bag that closes, is beautiful and functional go for a classic. You can buy a beautiful bag with an amazing history of quality and is always stylish. Longchamp is what you need. Nordstrom has some exclusive colors.
