Runs Small for House of CB
I have tried on and own dozens of House of CB products. Right now I am a size Large according to their size chart and have quite a few dresses from them in the Large size that fit me. However, Mathilde will not zip up. The "some stretch" descriptor for this specific item seems inaccurate. I will say that I was pleased with the quality of the dress and it doesn't look weird with the bow or lace trim ruffles. Mathilde looks very nice in person. I've not tried it outside yet so can't speak to the translucence of the skirt, but I did hear from somebody that they recommend undershorts with this dress.
Size up - even from your normal House of CB size. You might be fine if you're at the lowest end of your HoCB size and you don't have a super large bust like I do. This is definitely the tighest House of CB dress I've ever tried on, and that is saying something!
My stats: 5'9, large bust (UK 32J), hourglass figure, soft dramatic Kibbe type, US size 10. Some brands, I'm a size Medium - others, I'm a size Large. House of CB is definitely a solid Large for me - so it's surprising this dress felt so small! Their other dresses fit me fine.
