Inconsistent sizing
I bought this exact pair of jeans in another wash is size 24 and they fit perfectly. This pair in black are significantly larger in the waist so they’re going back. Such a nice pair of jeans, I wish the sizing was consistent!

It's okay
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the fabric, but I had to have the flare reduced as it was too wide and made my legs look short. I have to admit, I LOVED Madewells original SKINNY FLARE of a few years ago. I bought 5 pair keeping two for special occasions and wearing 3 for every day wear. Those after three (or more?) years, even washing after 5 to 7 wears are now a dull grey so I am trying to replace with BLACK. The image below is 2/14/26 in the old skinny/flare at a museum opening of me in front of my painting.....

Flattering

amazing fit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] these are great, generally. very flattering. the length is perfect for workwear too; a thicker soled boot or low wedge/heel elevates them in a very professional way. i wish they were ever so slightly deep/darker black, but they are close enough (unlike some of the washed out darkish gray options out there right now). true to size but definitely built for a longer leg.
