KOOTNEY - Vegan Down Mid-Length Parka Coat

This coat was so long and the sleeves were about 6” too long. So I returned it in store, with the tags still attached, and you would have thought I committed a crime because they said it’s “marketplace”. They showed me the register screen which had a big yellow “Marketplace” tag, and said Nordstrom didn’t sell it, a marketplace vendor did. They continued by saying if there’s anything wrong with it or worn, the vendor will reject the return. I cannot see an indication this is anything but a regular Nordstrom purchase. I hope they don’t start operating like Walmart and Amazon, where other vendors sell directly through them to Nordstrom customers. Come on, Nordstrom. Treat your customers better.

I am 5’6 120 lbs and normally wear an XS coat- I read the size guide on the alpine north website and went with a small which was a good choice. The XS would have been too small. Its very thick and can tell it will keep me warm. The sleeves are a little big but happy with my purchase!

I first ordered a medium coat in the color grape. The coat fit well but felt too oversized to keep. The front pockets were false pockets with no opening or zippers. The sleeve/glove lining was a thin, flexible material. I returned the grape color and ordered a small coat in black as that was the only color left in a small. The pockets do open by the top flap as well as the zippers. The liner fabric is a very thick, ribbed material that will make it difficult to wear gloves. The upper arm sleeves of the black coat are so wide it is not a flattering look. With these inconsistencies across sizes and colors I don't think I will be keeping this coat. It is warm and an attractive coat; it just doesn't fit well. The medium fit better than the small and seemed more proportionally balanced.

I walk to the train for my commute all winter in Chicago. This coat keeps me perfectly warm even with wind and subzero temperatures. It is not bulky at all. The faux fur around the neck is so cozy. I highly recommend this coat. The only thing that could be better is an outside pocket on the chest for a phone. I find the arm pocket to be a little clumsy.
