The Shortie Favorite Pants

These pants are very well made but extremely heavy. The waist band was definitely not a 14 as it was very small. The rest of the fit was too big. The worst part was the length. I could not believe how long these pants were. I’m 5’3” and would’ve needed at least 5 to 6 inches cut off the length. They look so cute in the picture and not that long. Started return. These should’ve come in petite with a correctly sized waist band if the designer wanted everyone to be able to wear them, especially at this price point.

I was so excited for these pants, but they did not work at all. The first thing I noticed out of the box is how heavy they are. I’m 5’4” 140, usually a 6 or even a 4, but I purchased an 8 because of reviews about the tiny waist. The waist was comfortable, but the pants were so voluminous I’d easily need a 4. As to the length, they were pooling around my feet. I measured to make sure of the inseam. It is 30”, but there is so much fabric in the rise/crotch (even a lot for a wide leg high-rise), the pants hang lower than expected for a petite style. I’ve purchased a couple other things from this brand and the quality and styles are great, but these widely celebrated pants are a total miss for me. I’d love to see these in a slightly larger waist (like 1-2”) to avoid all the sizing up nonsense. I hope FD will take another look at the rise on the shortie style since it seems to throw off the entire fit.

I am usually a 14/16 and the 14 were too small, so much so I am unsure the 16 would even fit. The quality is beautiful, I wanted a professional pant (not jersey or legging material!) and they fit the bill perfectly. Worth the splurge if you are looking for something not too thin, and not too flared for “straight” leg. Absolutely loved them, really wish they fit.
