Artisan Tassel Knee High Boot (Women)

These boots are gorgeous. I have narrow calves and they fit beautifully. The quality appears to be high from looks alone. I bought these last year and spoke directly to Penelope chilvers about waterproofing them to protect the suede and did that without a problem. Overall, it’s a comfortable and beautiful boot. My only issue is that the zipper sticks slightly. It always has and I should have returned it right away, but I didn’t realize it would be a problem. It takes forever to get the zipper all the way down and I cannot get my foot in without getting the zipper down. Then it sticks on the way back up. Boots are always too wide in the calf for me, and this one is perfect in that it looks like it fits without being too tight. So I know it’s not an issue of the calf being narrow, but the zipper quality itself. For such and expensive and supposedly high quality shoe, it’s disappointing to have this ongoing issue.

I was so excited to get my first Penelope Chilvers boots and especially loved the color and the fact that they were suede. After receiving them, I noticed first of all that they not did not come in the individual bags that these boots usually come in, but most importantly there was a dark streak from the toe all the way up the shaft on the left boot. Half of the right boot was a darker shade than the other (fading??). I love Nordstrom, but find it difficult to comprehend that they would send a pricey item without doing quality control first. Very disappointed and I’m returning them. Unfortunately, they are sold out in my size so cannot purchase another pair.
