Houndstooth Quilted Barn Jacket

The jacket online looked amazing. Just what I wanted for fall. Pros- True to size for your normal jacket size. Cons- extremely disappointed in the quality especially from Ralph Lauren. The jacket trim that is suppose to look like leather is horrible. It’s like a cheap plastic trim. The patches on the elbows are the same horrible plastic as the trim. Coat has a plastic smell to it. Based on the trim and patches I doubt I would get one fall out of this coat before the trim began to break apart and crack. I so wanted to love this coat but sadly it’s going back.

The style of this jacket is perfect but the sleeves are a little short and tight at the wrists and I have below average sized wrists (long arms though). The previous reviewer is right about the plastic smell and I’m on the fence about the leather like patches. Real leather would have made this 5 stars. Not sure if I’m keeping it or sending it back.

I absolutely fell in love with this jacket and was so excited to receive it. Unfortunately it didn’t work out the body of the jacket was perfect. I normally wear a M but buy my coats in a L so I can wear bulky sweaters. Well not with this one. I couldn’t even get my arms in the L. It was like the sewed the arms of a M or S onto a L coat. The sleeves were visibly slimmer than the coat. I could not have even gotten that jacket on with an extremely thin l/s little lone a sweater. Unfortunately I had to return. I was very disappointed in the coat construction this year. Do better Lauren Ralph Lauren!

I haven’t made up my mind if I want to keep this or not. Mostly due to the fact that it’s a little long on me. For reference I’m 5’3 38B so I typically get a large and I think it fits well on my chest and on my shoulders, but the arms are long and the torso length is also long so it fits a little weird on my physique. If you were 5’6+, the length would be perfect. I’m also not a fan of the pleather trim and elbow patches… it unfortunately l looks very pleather. It’s also not very warm.

Fit was good , wish arms were slightly longer. 5'8 140 ish. Could have gone with medium but I think this one looks better more fitted and not too boxy looking on the body. Thats just me
