Altira GORE-TEX Cropped Jacket

Bought for my girlfriend, she loved it but seems like it came with the no DWR on it (hydrophobic coating responsible for the “beading” effect for waterproof jacket. Could understand if it came used but was a disappointment new. Product service told me to buy DWR detergent and wash the jacket so maybe I’ll try that.

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for as a shorter woman who prefers a cropped fit. I wanted a functional, cool and flattering rain jacket and this one ticked all my boxes. The hood design is great as it’s roomy and allows for hats and hairstyles to fit inside comfortably, but it isn’t so big that it hangs in your face and impedes visibility. I really like the Forage colour way, it’s a neutral that goes with everything and yet is more interesting than something cream, black or white. I find it’s pretty true to size, so size up if you want to layer underneath. I’m usually a L but purchased an XL. I might have even considered buying an XXL if it was in stock because I like an oversized look.

5’10 150 lbs male wearing size large women’s and it’s perfect for my shorter torso. I get a lot of compliments on the fit and green color. Keeps me dry for coffee shop walks in rainy SF and warm with a merino base layer only underneath.

I absolutely love the style and length of this rain jacket. This length is great for us shorter females who struggle with ‘short’ coats that are too long. Could you please add more colors to this collection? Maybe a solid red or soft blue? Something with better visibility when it is dark and rainy would be really nice. Thanks!

There’s a lot to love about this jacket. The cut is perfect for those who are shorter (I’ve struggled with outdoor jackets awkwardly hitting below my hips). The one detail that drives me crazy are the Velcro straps around the wrist. For this price point, Velcro really cheapens the experience and doesn’t play well with other outdoor materials. I’d prefer a snap button feature (or literally anything else).

Really great jacket, especially for a short woman (Im 5'0"). Sleeves are long so I still roll those up at the end. For a jacket at this price there are some things I wish were updated. The hood pull to cinch in the back doesn't have a cover on it like my Patera does so the cord and pull stick straight out from the back of the hood sometimes and look weird. The pockets are huge and they have a pocket inside the pocket. I deeply wish those inside pockets were zippered. Because the pockets are huge and the little ones sit high it just feels like my stuff is going to fall out and while its raining it makes it easier for water to get in. Little pockets being zippered would allow stuff to be protected while being able to take my hands in and out of the bigger pockets. Overall, a great jacket, but at this price point I expect smaller details to be thought of that feel like they weren't.
