Different sizing than traditional Allen Edmonds
I have fifteen or more Allen Edmonds pairs in my closet. Every time I order a 13D, open the box, put them on, and a perfect fit. Today, the successful streak came to an end. These shoes are much too small. I cannot even get this model on my foot. It is a full 3/4” shorter than any other AE in my closet. I do not know if it’s mis-marked, clearly stamped 13D, or a completely different sizing concept. Use caution when ordering.

With the shoemaking technique used for this design the uppers are fully wrapped around the foot, creating a glove-like fit and it also requires less layers of material. Suede como penny loafers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how it looks and fits me, I am still waiting for it to break in. Due to snow in NYC, I didn’t wear it much. But it’s still lot comfortable compared to my 5th Avenue oxfords. Love how I can pair it with almost all business casual outfits. Also what I love about suede is that, it doesn’t need much maintenance like polishing. I am grateful that sole is danite rubber sole with good quality suede, it looks cool with anything. Construction quality is really good and will stand test of time.

Love at first fitting
I was skeptical about liking these before trying them on in store since I am well aware that Allen Edmonds’ quality has faltered over the years. However, on my feet they felt like a bespoke pair. Exceptionally crafted and quality to boot, I had to have them. Unfortunately the store didn’t have my size in stock in the color I originally wanted. When I got home, I checked the website and found that the grey suede color I had not considered was on sale for 50% so I had to have them. Worn them a few times already and they’ve become my favorite loafers for work and casual outings. They’re very comfortable (as comfortable as a leather loafer can get) and are very easy to style, dressed up or down. I suggest spraying them with a suede protector to keep stains at bay, but otherwise if you’re tired of wearing sneakers everywhere and want a classic, versatile, stylish, well made, pair of loafers, these should definitely be on your radar.
