Fit & Lift High Waist Flare Jeans

I was looking for a pair of high-waisted trendy jeans (strongly encouraged by my teenage daughter). These are so cute, and even better than that, comfortable! They have some give & stretch so I can wear them all day, even sitting for a car trip, and not feel like I’m being pinched. The only slight downside is that they were too long, and I had to have them hemmed. I’m average height - 5’6” - so that’s unusual for me.

I called the Nordstrom store in Boca Raton, FL and asked if they do complimentary hemming on 2 pairs of regular price jeans I bought online at Nordstrom.com before I make the 45 minutes drive to the store. They said yes there’s no charge to hem the jeans if they are full price item purchased from Nordstrom store or online. I get to the store and the alterations lady wanted to charge me $79 to hem my jeans!!!!! I asked her why the price when I was told it’s free. She and the store manager said because the jeans are flared so they have to charge me. If this was a skinny jeans or straight leg then it’s free. According to Nordstrom’s terms and conditions, “free basic alterations are available to all members provided the item being altered was purchased from a Nordstrom store or through Nordstrom.com” In the end the manager would only agree to do 1 pair of my jeans for free. This is such a scam of a program. Nordstrom should not tell their customers they offer free alterations on full price jeans if that’s not the case. See picture of their website policy.
