We adore melons for their distinct personalities and set out to capture what makes each one so compelling: cantaloupe with its golden, musky, creaminess, honeydew with its cool, green, translucence, and watermelon with its juicy sweetness. The accord begins bright, then moves into the slightly salty, waxy, nuances of melon skin, joining with the vegetal freshness of green vines, cucumber peel, and fresh cucumber water for a true, sun-dappled chill. A dose of labdanum adds an amber-lit, vanilla-tinged nuance that gradually wraps the freshness with a tender-soft warmth. The result is a beautifully balanced atmosphere that starts soft and creamy, then cool and watery, and finally smooth and sensual as the room fills.
