The Empower Shirt Dress

This is a great, easy-to-throw-on shirt dress that always gets compliments. It’s flattering, and doesn’t highlight any problem areas for me at 5’4” and 160 lbs (most of my weight is in the belly too, fyi if you’re reading this for fit details). The material does fade a bit in the wash, but it’s an overall non-issue (at least for me!). Solid purchase.

I have several of these empower shirt dresses from Wildfang and I love them, except that the fabric fades SO quickly after washing. They are such comfortable, with style, dresses! I wish they would do more with the fabrics they used for the piped version of the empower dress! I have a couple of those and they wash up better.

Wildfang is supposed to be all about breaking gender norms and creating functional clothing - so I was very bummed this dress didn't have pockets at the waist (there is a small single breast pocket on the right side.) I ordered based off my measurements, but this was quite large, am going to need to size down at least 1, possibly two sizes. Cute print, nice comfortable length, seems like it would be good for hot days -- just wishing it was a bit more functional.
