Don't Worry About Packaging!
I just purchased my "seventh" color in this tote bag since my first in April! People who complain about the way the bag is sent are being unreasonable. As long as it is not damaged why should excess paper/plastic be an issue? We're supposed to be protecting the environment! It's NOT a $1,000.00 item. For the price, it's fantastic. I've gotten compliments and inquiries about my totes in all the colors for the past 3 months. My Kindle, iPad, journal, large wallet, phone, makeup bag, etc., all fit with room to spare! I think the distressed leather/slouchy look is a great change from those "structured designer" bags that are becoming too ordinary. The tote looks better in person. It may be a bit heavy for some, but I don't mind. As far as the "smell" goes, I just open the bag wide with a hanger and let it sit for a few days to air and the odor disappears! It's well made and looks more durable than bags I've paid 2-3 times more for. You don't get a dust bag. I use inexpensive, "cotton pillowcases" in the "same color" as the totes, and I can spot them easily in my closet! The leathers can "breathe," and I don't buy "overpriced, synthetic" dust bags! Enjoy!

Nordstrom Rack?
I just received my order From NORDSTROM, not Nordstrom rack, paid full price and it’s smells horrible. No packaging at all just threw in a Nordstrom pickup bag . I’m not happy . The tag says Nordstrom Rack

ignore the negatives
FREE PEOPLE doesn't include boxes or dustbags and they also package their bags in a mailer. Not sure why FP (not FB, whatever that means), would considering they're NOT designer. The bag is fine, very soft and roomy for daily outings and travel. But it's heavy and can strain your shoulder. The quality doesn't feel up to par with the price. I would be worried about the leather and strap tearing over time with too much added weight. Luckily Nordstrom has a fantastic return policy in case anything happens to the bag. I recommend waiting for a sale if you can wait awhile.

Disappointed
The bag was delivered in a white plastic bag with no box or dust bag. For a$250 handbag, I expected better. Without opening the bag, it was heavy. No need to keep it because it’s heavy and once I put all of my stuff in it, I’ll be worn out trying to carry it.
I expected better quality from Nordstrom.

No Lock and Key on this Bag
The bag was misrepresented on the Nordstrom website with a key and lock attached. The bag I received was the same one I see on other sites with a flat stamped tag. I purposefully ordered through Nordstrom as I was promised 20% off for a first order through the app and expected the bag in the images shown - neither happened, so I returned it. Very disappointed and will not order through Nordstrom again. The bag itself seemed to be good quality leather and construction.

Beautiful and Functional
I’d give it five stars if the packaging was better than a plastic bag, even though they said it was a recycle bag. And the leather smell is super strong.
The bag is not structured, which is perfect for me because I was looking for a slouchy bag. The leather is soft and the attention to detail is great. There are lots of pockets, which is always a plus. I plan to use it as my purse, diaper bag, and weekend getaway bag.
I also love that I can use it as a crossbody bag.

Half the Size as the Photos!!
I was so excited for a cute trendy bag I could use for work. This bag was about half the size as shown in the photos and I wouldn’t be able to fit more than my wallet, a notebook, and a book. Very cute but had to return. No lock on the bag either
