Vital Pressed Skin Care Powder

Very beautiful packaging but very little product inside (more like travel size). I purchased the color 'creme' and it matches well with my light-medium skin however it does not look nice with textured skin. It accentuates my forehead pores rather than hide or blur them. Used this both over a primer and also without primer to test it. Tried over foundation and tried without foundation (same results each time). I applied a very light layer, and also tried building up a layer to see if it makes a difference (not much). I've been using this just around the house because it simply doesn't last when I wear it for work. It's also not great for oily skin, the product congeals and moves around my forehead throughout the day if I haven't blotted with paper, and whatever I have left under my eye or cheeks transfers on my medical face mask. No staying power. I have only used this with a brand new unused brush and with light swirling of the powder it creates a 'hard pan' effect. I think they need to reformulate this powder. It has potential and I love the skin care benefits, however it does not work for me right now.

I’m old enough and wrinkled enough to be jaded about beauty claims, but I do need and use a light sweep of powder every day because I use oil to moisturize my face and even after blotting, there is still a bit of a shine. But sometimes loose powder can look a bit heavy, so I decided to try this new formulation. I used the Translucent on my pale and slightly faded face, and saw my reflection looked matte and natural. Very satisfactory. Then, went to a function where someone who hadn’t seen me in three years suggested somewhat disapprovingly that I’d had work done to my face. That made me happy. I have not had any work done to my face. This powder is ridiculously expensive but for me, it is worth it. I wear it every day and it gives a slight blurring effect to my wrinkles every day. Yay!

I wear the stick foundation and it is extraordinary. The powder is as well. Have both the creme and the translucent. A caution that the translucent is more "white" than expected. It can produce a kind of kabuki look if not careful. Also wish (for this price point) the compact came with a small powder puff applicator for travel. Even the smallest I have found will not work. Hate having to carry a brush as well.

Purchased this with my own money, not sponsored. The shade Pink Bubble works well for my light cool skin, but the effect is minimal with one swipe, whereas it starts emphasizing texture easily when more product is applied. The compact is pretty , yet quite bulky, so not very travel friendly. Also, there is very little product for the price and the powder compact developed hard pan very quickly. Not impressed.
