Haylie A-Line Dress

I really wanted this dress to work because the color is absolutely beautiful. In person, the cobalt is saturated and rich, and the overall quality feels nice. The top of the dress is perfect — the waistband is very flattering, and I especially appreciated that the sleeves provided arm coverage in a way that still felt elegant. Unfortunately, the bottom of the dress did not work for my body type. The skirt is constructed with three horizontal tiers, and the seams pull inward at each layer. Instead of flowing smoothly, the tiers create a pinching effect that emphasizes curves in an unflattering way. The overall look felt bulky, almost like the fabric was creating a “sausage link” effect, which disrupted the otherwise polished silhouette.
