High Waist Ponte Knit Leggings

These are the only leggings I have found in several years that are substantial enough that I feel comfortable wearing them as more than loungewear. Leggings have been getting flimsier in recent years and are for the most part unwearable as anything other than tights, IMHO. These are not overly clingy or tight and are more the weight and texture of a pant than hosiery, which is exactly what I am looking for. They also do not look like exercise gear, which I appreciate, so can be worn for professional or dressier wear in addition to casual. Although they do run slightly larger than most leggings (which I normally find too tight); after trying on the smaller sizes, I found that my usual size was more comfortable and the looser fit gave a more pant-like look that I prefer. If you are thinner, younger, or have a super small waist, you might want to size down. However, the more mature may, like me, find your normal size more flattering, especially if you are larger through the stomach/thighs. This style does a good job at camouflaging those areas. The only people who probably could not wear these would be those with very small waists. But they have the whole rest of the leggings market to shop from! ;-) I LOVE that these have a normal rise and are not "lowriders". It has become increasingly difficult to find pants and leggings that have a normal rise, which, let's face it, if you are plus sized, you really want. These are not the kind of leggings to wear under a dress. They are substantial and look more like a pant and are terrific with sweaters and jackets. Hallelujah! LOVE THESE! Wish they came in more colors and that Nordstrom would carry more leggings and pants in this heavier weight fabric. I could do without the back seam but it's not that noticeable. Overall, very well made, well designed, and flattering.

When I removed these leggings from their wrapping, I noticed that they were shaped like a person, meaning they didn't lie flat. They have their own tush! I thought it odd that the darts along the seat were so pronounced, but I put them on. They fit perfectly, but were uncomfortable in the leg. I reached down & realized that the darts originating in the seat formed seams that ran down the rear of the entire leg! It's like wearing seamed stockings except they're pants! It didn't feel good. I'm returning them.
