Adria Knee High Boot (Women)

My normal size in Vince Camuto, Sam Edelman, Clark's & Stuart Weitzman is 8M. Five & 1/2 months ago, I had surgery on my left foot. The swelling is receding, but it's still a little swollen. I have to be careful with any shoes or boots because my toes, on the left foot, are still sensitive & tender. The color, rich mahogany, was so enticing that I took a chance & ordered my usual 8M, regular calf width. For reference: I am: 69 yo, 5'4", 145lb., calf width at thickest: 13 1/2". The top of the boot comes just under my knee. That length from my ankle to the top of the boot is 12 inches. The left foot is a little snug; but I couldn't go to an 8 1/2 or my heel would slip. No thick socks, just hosiery socks. I wore the boots around the house , on tile & hardwood, for about an hour. No rubbing of any kind or pinching. The online picture doesn't do this boot justice. The detailing, leather & construction are luxurious. I love the addition of the gold saddle bit in the back of the boot. This is this season's fall color & will go with so many of my outfits.

I like the height of these boots, as well as the deep wine color and the brass detail. However, the best part is that I was able to walk all over London on my first day wearing them with only a little rubbing on the outer toe of my right foot (which is a genetic reality and no fault of the boots!). I took my normal 9.5 and found the regular width worked fine for my larger calves. I wore these with tights on my first outing and hope that with time and wear these will be perfect with regular socks. Really happy with this find.
