The first shoe I've ever had to take off in the middle of my first run and walk back home in my socks. Plasticy, uncomfortable, terrible.

Great mountain running shoes - durable against the rocks, supportive against the scrambles and very lightweight, responsive and nimble which is very much appreciated. Ran in these for the 2026 Minotaur which crossed forested trails and high alpine. Especially when moving across alpine rock, ridges etc where you want some confidence as you use the edges of the shoes. The shoes stood up to the beating and still going post race. A short gaiter helps keep the menacing rocks out especially on the downhill screes. However, it isn’t fully protective. But it certainly helps. No goretex so watch your feet amongst the puddles but highly breathable which means they can dry fast. Ive been using these for climbing approaches and some low grade climbing. Sticky rubber and great fit all around. Sizing is appropriate to what I normally wear. Fits better than the vertex alpines. My only gripe is the thumb loop at the back of the shoe is a bit on the smaller side so trying to quickly put these shoes on can be a bit if a challenge. But otherwise once fitted, they’re pretty comfortable. I recommend people try it before you commit as some may find the toebox on the wider side. Next big run - skyline and I’ll be taking these for sure.

Apparently very well made, impressively bonded textiles. Only a few miles in so far, and have noticed that shoelaces come untied easily if not tucked into the tongue lace pocket. Toe box is quite roomy. Midsole compression feels similar to Cushlon from Nike. This offers good ground feel but likely too firm for miles of hard pack. Breathability is marginal, as textiles are light but tightly woven. Excited to use these in technical conditions and see how they hold up.

For technical alpine terrain this shoe is hard to beat. The shoe climbs like an approach shoe while maintaining the ability to provide comfort on more runnable terrain. I have used this shoe in races like Mount Marathon and have also soloed moderate alpine route with it. When it comes to technical terrain this is my go-to shoe. The fit is relatively tight so if you have a wide foot I would recommend trying them on prior to purchasing them. The materials used are highly durable and can take a real beating. Generally i have had to retire this shoe because I have worn through the lugs while the upper keeps going.
