Veronica Flex Combat Boot (Women)

Overall: LOVE these boots! A classic combat-style boot that can be worn with jeans, dresses, whatever. The black leather is beautiful. The rubber sole added to the leather on the bottom makes for softer walking. These are the kind of boots/shoes that will stay in my collection for years. Now to the details: Wore them outside of the house for the first time last night - 4 hours, on my feet - no blisters or rubbing. I've been wanting a pair of well-made leather boots and I think I've found them. To be clear, these boots will need time to fully break-in and conform to my feet. But I'm OK with that. Yesterday I wore them at my desk during the day while working before the 4 hours on my feet, to start the break-in process. The toe box is the stiffest part of the shoe; I believe my toes will be pretty well protected if I accidentally run into something. Regarding sizing: I ordered an 8; sometimes I'm an 8.5 in a closed-toe shoe - this time the 8 fits well. The 8.5 would have been too big. Note - my foot is narrow. I can wear M widths in most shoes but narrow is a better fit. This shoe - as of now, day 1 of wearing - seems to be on the narrow side of medium. The toe box area seems thin - meaning in height, from top of shoe to the sole, it seems narrow. Which works for me because my feet are thin in that direction. IF you have a wide and/or thick foot I'm not sure how this shoe would fit. If you have a high arch/instep, I think you will have to unlace these pretty far down the boot to get your foot inside. I don't have a high arch and I still struggled, unlacing the shoe more than I normally would. Again, after simply sitting all day with the shoes on, then on my feet for 4 hours - on the first day of wearing - these boots were comfortable, with no blisters or other concerns. And cute! Highly recommend.
