Universa Medium-Support High-Waisted Pocket 7/8 Leggings

I’m sorry, but this new version of the Universa leggings is the most I’ve ever been disappointed in Nike. I was hopeful with all the positive reviews, but then when I saw most were collected as part of a promo, it made sense as to why what I received was the opposite. The first version of the Universas might be the greatest legging Nike has EVER designed—and might be the only leggings actually worth the $110 price tag. I have 14 pairs in almost every color because they’re so great. But this new version is bad. The material is different (less stretchy and feels cheaper), the waistband is shorter and less flattering, the waist shape no longer creates and accentuates a curve, the pockets are awkward, the compression that was so perfect before is gone, and the sizing is off (I got my normal XS and the waist is about 1.5-2” bigger than the XS in the first version. I have no idea why Nike messed with something so great, but this new version is a fail for me. The only positive was how cute the color is (University Red). Retuned them immediately.

I have 5 or 6 pairs of Nike leggings and absolutely love them! I was surprised when I got these and they felt quite cheap. I don’t think these are medium support and they weren’t flattering like the other medium support leggings I have. Not sure what happened with these! But I definitely don’t think they’re worth the price tag.

Nike leggings are usually my absolute favorite for fit, quality, and overall feel, so I was really disappointed with the redesign of the waistband on these. The leggings themselves are great, but whatever that extra band/strip is across the top of the waistband is awful. It feels like it’s there to keep the waistband from rolling down, but instead it presses into my waist and creates an unflattering line/indentation. It doesn’t smooth the waist at all — it basically makes it look like the waistband is cutting into me. I also don’t understand why Nike changed something that didn’t need fixing. The previous waistband was much more comfortable and flattering without that extra tight band across the top. I only switch to Universa (not my favorite) because they got rid of Nike Go line. PLEASE bring back Nike Go! Those legging were perfection and get rid of skims!! That’s garbage!

These leggings seem really nice, however I had to return and repurchase them again and fingers crossed I get a new pair as Nordstrom send me out a used pair of leggings. They came with no tags on them and smelt like laundry/ fabric softner. Super disappointed as Nordstrom’s quality control has gone down hill.

Nike leggings are by far my favorite as far as fit and quality goes. Even if I buy different brands, I always reach for my Nike. However I am not a fan of the pocket placement for the redesign of the Universa. It’s too high up and I find it difficult to slide my phone in and if I do, I can’t bend over because it sits on my hip. I felt the old Universa design is far superior so please revert. And also pleaseee bring back the Nike Go, I regret not buying every color when they were around. Just perfection.
