Apex Backpack 4.0

*This is my second purchase. My husband permanently borrowed my first bag.* I searched for months for the perfect backpack after I finally transitioned away from a diaper bag. I travel a lot for work, so here was my criteria: - sleek looking, but can still hold a lot - fits over the handle of my luggage - lightweight, but sturdy - has pockets, but not too many - has good padding for my laptop (I've had a Macbook break due to insufficient padding in an older "laptop" bag) - light to no branding - can hold a fairly big water bottle (shown in the photo is Owala 32 oz) without it pushing into the bag and taking up 1/4th of the space - sustainably made The Apex meets all of the above. I don't know if I can write the other brands I looked at, but it was a lot. Roughly the same price range. There's a bonus perk -- it stands on its own. This is oddly convenient. I also really like the structured front so that if I were to take my kiddo on a play date, I can put snacks and things inside without it getting crushed. I've also fit: overnight clothes + toiletries, workout clothing, including shoes. I also really like the zippered side pocket. It allows me to either use it as a second water bottle holder for when I'm traveling with kiddo or a secure stash pocket for keys/cash/AirPods (I do this a lot when I'm on the go). Love this bag, and I get a ton of compliments on it and questions about where it's from. It also looks really nice, even after multiple trips. It's also easy to wipe off and clean.

The Apex 4.0 is SO comfortable! It is by far my favorite work bag. I hardly know it’s on my back since the straps are so comfortable. I love all of the pockets for organization especially the laptop pockets and pocket on the shoulder straps for my phone. It even holds my 40 oz water bottle. Definitely recommend!

The built-in organization is what really separates this bag from the competition. The main compartments layout is ideal for those who believe there is a place for everything and everything has its place. Everything about the bag is well thought out from the way the zipper covers shield the media compartment to the soft lining for the laptop area. Personally, I use the top zipper section for my wallet and airpods and the lower zippered section for my notepad and pens. The tri pocket section fits a 20,000 mah battery pack, iphone 16 pro, and extra camera batteries. The internal front mesh pocket has become my wire/charging brick dump so I always have a way to recharge my phone, computer, and camera. The remaining space perfectly fits an Olympus OM D E-1 Mii with a 12-48mm lens, a rain coat, and my water bottle. Slip a Macbook Pro into the suspended laptop compartment and you have the perfect day bag for everything from academia to street photography. Historically I have used a GoRuck GR1 26L and a PGNY Tech 25L Backpack to travel and work, but I will be switching to the Apex 4.0 until further notice. The combination of built in storage, durable materials, and slick aesthetic make this my new go to bag for work and play.

This is an adult backpack! I love that it makes me feel cool, chic and sleek and not like a dorky 2nd grader. As a female adult, I used to feel awkward wearing a backpack but shoulder bags hurt my back, especially when carrying heavy things like my laptop, water bottle, etc. This backpack is so comfortable to wear and looks amazing!
