Etna Espadrille Sandal (Women)

These shoes are exactly what I was looking for. They worked perfectly for walking around Paris. Comfortable, with a little bit of style. A lovely “hybrid” shoe that’s part sandal, part comfortable shoe with structure. They did take some breaking-in though! The edges are slightly more “sharp” than I expected and even roughing up the (under) edges of leather with fine sandpaper didn’t quite do the trick. But once they were worn for quite a few outings, they got much better.

These shoes are so comfortable right out of the box. The style is flattering, the tan leather is a perfect neutral; perfect for daytime and casual evening wear. The leather is lightweight so even when the weather is warm, these remain comfortable. While the leather wears well, the cord begins to fray after about 2 years so if you expect these to wear like work boots, you'll be disappointed. I purchased these in tan in 2016 and since they are espadrilles, I expected the wear on the cord part and I just bought another pair to keep in the box for next summer. Nice shoes.

I tried these as well as various fabric versions in similar styles. These fit like a fine pair of kid gloves! Comfortable from the moment I put them on and still comfortable many hours of walking later. My new go to sandal. Bought the tan ones as well but wish they came in a blue and/or white so I could wear them with everything! I have high arches which can sometimes be a problem in flat shoes but no problem with these at all as the side straps provide excellent support.
