Tiered Floral Velvet Burnout Maxi Skirt

Seems yet another brand has dumbed down quality and style for the sake of the almighty $$$. Color is dull and the fabric looks like something from the back of granny's closet cir 1960. RL may still have a few high-end items well out of the everyday pocket, but they used to have very nice items at this same price point. Also, so very long; alterations ended up removing the whole bottom layer to achieve a midi length, and I'm 5'4". Overall fit is much fuller than on the sleek model. Live-n-Learn.

I'm very fond of Ralph Lauren pieces. This skirt however was too long and the material was not how it was pictured. I'm 5'8", 132 lbs. The size 6 fit me perfectly except the back of the skirt touched the ground. I would have had to either wear high heels every time that I wore it or get it altered. I had to return as I didn't want to do either. The material was ribbed. The color pattern of the skirt was not pleasing. Those 2 items together would have made it difficult to put together a polished look when matching the top to the skirt.
