First, it was clear from the condition of the box that the shoes were someone else's return. Second, when I examined the shoes, the footbed was not quite the right size for the shoe base, improperly applied and was pulling away from it. Finally, one of the zippers would not work without more force than I was willing to apply given the shoe construction. I was not expecting heirloom quality shoes for the quite economical price, but they should at least not be coming apart before ever putting them on. I returned them without trying them on.
