Details & care
Some objectives don't fit neatly into one category, and the gear you bring along has to be honest about that. The Taiss Pro SO Pant from Mammut was built for exactly those days, the ones that start on a skin track, transition to a technical ridge, and finish on a long descent where conditions have changed completely since morning. This is a pant that earns its place in the pack by refusing to specialize at the expense of versatility. The brushed double-woven softshell fabric is both warmer and softer than a standard shell, blocking wind and managing moisture through sustained effort without making you choose between comfort and protection. Articulated knee panels give you full range of motion, whether you're kicking steps or navigating a crux move, while integrated snow gaiters with attachment hooks seal out the cold at the hem. Climbing harness-compatible pockets keep essentials accessible even when you're roped up, and the Cordura reinforced hem takes the abuse that ski edges and crampons dish out every single day.
