Strapless Satin Trumpet Gown

I ordered two of these dresses as a backup wedding dress, and was shocked when both arrived in one thin box. These aren't lined, just one sad, cheap layer of satin. It honestly looks like something that came from Shein, and not Nordstrom. I'm a size 14, and bought one 16 (which didn't zip) and the 18 (which was a bit big).

I should’ve listened to the reviewer who called this dress cheap. 1. The beautiful green is a lot less beautiful in person. Darker (not a bad color) but it doesn’t catch the light which is a bummer. 2. Fits well-ish, but the material doesn’t allow it to hug the way it should. It’s almost crinkly, but not in a good way. There’s an extra bit of material that doesn’t settle right. A bit long, but I’m 5’4” so not unexpected. Doesn’t quite fit like a typical trumpet. Might be due in part to the blah fabric. 3. I was on the fence until I read the tag…I should’ve done more than just read the “satin” description. The dress is poly, feels and looks poly (albeit decent quality poly). Directions say that you can wash it in the machine…ummmm, no. I mean, it could save $$, but yeah…just not doing all that for a $300+ dress.
