The most powerful childrens book I have read
This book brought tears to my eyes. This is the first time I came across a disabled character in a children’s story. Which is meaningful to me because my dad had his leg amputated 11 years ago.
Just the other night, I got to point to the starfish wearing a prosthetic leg and say ‘look, he’s wearing a prosthetic leg just like ong ngoai’. Abbey stared in amazement and said ‘wow!’
Such important messages/lessons in this cute story. I love it!

Lovely book for our little ones
I may be one of the first ones who read this book since this was published. The story is so sweet and loving and perfect for our little ones as a good reminder that they are loved and cared! A Perfect bedtime story book!

A timeless message with beautiful art
Many children's books are often reduced to whether or not their art was memorable, rather than their message. That's not so with Starhug! Wong writes with a tender, heartfelt simplicity that stands just as strong without Nguyen's illustrations (though Nguyen's art is adorable!), and the ending scenes are truly my favorite part of the book. To recognize your own moods, and to reach out instead of repressing your emotions? To recognize them in others, and to extend a helping hand (or hug, in this case, haha)? Starhug has a galaxy-wide appeal, because it's got a universal message.

Beautiful message for kids and adults!
We loved the way the gentle story was written and illustrated. It communicated a valuable and memorable message of love and warmth that will remind us of all those near and far. It is rare to find a book that speaks to all ages in such an inclusive and genuine way. It is one you will easily reach for anytime hugs are in order! :)

A brilliant conversation starter with kids
I bought this book as a gift, and then went back and bought two more-one for my bookshelf and one for another gift. The story makes me feel joy, and is a reminder to be open and loving. The artwork is as much fun as the story - lots to look at and see when reading with a child. My children read it by themselves now, and it will be one of the books I will pack away for my children to give to their children.
