Small Marcie Leather Satchel

Tags were not attached. There was no dust bag and it was shipped in a thin plastic sleeve. There is glue on the cloth part of the zipper and in the handles there’s a weird white substance. The front has a crease in the leather. Either this bag was heavily damaged when Nordstrom received it, or someone else used it and returned it. Shocked and will be returning. Very very very disappointed in Nordstrom as of late. This is the second bag that I’ve returned bc it’s damaged and a dust bag was not included.

I have been eyeing this style of bag for a long time and it’s super nostalgic because the first time I noticed it, Lorelai from Gilmore Girls was carrying it around in the larger size. I’m 5’2, 115lbs so the smaller size is perfect for my height and frame. The moment I noticed it for sale in Sooty Brown, I KNEW I had to have it. Totally gives off professor vibes in this color and I’m absolutely obsessed with it. Thin strap but it doesn’t bother me, once you take all the stuffing out it’s not super heavy and as long as you don’t pack rat it then it won’t weigh too much. Such a staple piece to add to my collection and I’m sure I’ll be wearing this constantly. Only qualm is the zipper does stick a bit when I zip it open all the way, but I’ll get creative and figure out how to fix it, super worth it for this beauty. ♥️

I've had two of these Marcies, for 10 years, and they are still going! I have a black one, and a pale pink and they still look great. I use them every day to go to work and I'm amazed at the craftsmanship and the hardware on these bags that have stood the test of time. They have a great thick handle, and an outside flat pocket that is convenient. I have many other more delicate designer bags, but this is my work horse, day to day bag, and I continue to be impressed with the craftsmanship. Great investment.

I looked at this bag at Scottsdale Fashion Square today, have it saved to buy. After looking at it online here, who names a bag Sooty ?? Word connotations influence a buyer’s choice. I wanted to buy it, but now because it’s named Sooty Brown, forget it. I’m a marketing major, and reading specialist, who are you hiring to make these decisions?
