Silk is now the ONLY thing I will use to tie my hair back.
Its crazy to think that when I was eleven, the only thing we had to make a ponytail was either a rubber band or those ties that had the little plastic balls on them. I never even had those because we just couldn't afford stuff like that so I HAD to use rubber bands! And oh, the knots, the pain and the damage! I know what a rubber band can do to hair, and anything but silk will damage it as well. These silk ties have never gotten stuck in my hair where all other ones end up getting all mixed up in a mess of knots and broken hair. These ties never do that! The "better" ties that are not made of silk and most cloth covered ties will still damage your hair, just slower and not as obvious until it's too late.
My hair is virgin - no chemical processes, no heat damage. As I get older, with the grey coming in, the texture has changed to curlier, more coarse and unruly hair. I want to save my hair from looking worse. These ties will not tangle in my crazy, poofy, long, thick course hair - even when I straighten it silky flat. These hair ties DON'T slip off my hair no matter what i do, they keep it back without any damage.
Don't be fooled by hair ties labeled "satin" because satin is not silk. Satin will leach moisture from the hair and can be made of polyester or even cotton which will "rough up" the cuticle and weaken strands. Only these 100% silk hair ties will keep hair from getting "roughed up" and breaking.
They come in a few sizes - from slim to a pretty poofy scrunchy. I use their silk pillow cases as well, and they really help to keep hair from tangling and knotting while I sleep - and a plus is that silk pillowcases help stave off "sleep" creases on my face!
These ties don't leave a mark or crimp my hair like other ties do. There is no tell-tale hair tie mark.
Maybe these are expensive, but they are very well made, you can wash them. I use their soap made for washing the pillowcases, but you can use woolite or whatever works for you.
They make a big difference in keeping my hair from tangling and breaking off at the "ponytail" point! When I remove the ties from my hair, they just slip right down the hair and I never find any ripped broken hair tangled up in the scrunchy (you know what I mean - just go look at your own hair ties - you know they have caught and taken hair with them) and this always happens to me with any other hair tie/scrunchy.
I think of these silk hair ties as a good investment in my hair. These ARE an investment in your hair. As I get older, hair loss is an issue. These ties help keep hair loss caused by hair ties at a minimum. Plus, they are well made and hold up to everyday use, and are just pretty!
If you can, invest on ONE pack, and see the difference for yourself. I mean, if you buy expensive haircare products - shampoos, conditioners, masks, and tools to keep your hair at it's best, these ties need to be included for that very reason! Why ruin all the time, money and work you put in to your healthy beautiful hair by using damaging hair ties and scrunchies? Why damage your hair with inferior products at all? I won't be without these silk hair ties anymore!
