Quilted Puffer Coat with Removable Hood

I needed a warm long coat for this winter and this is it! Sometimes I get a little too hot but I prefer that over feeling cold, at least I don’t need extra layers. It doesn’t have rib cuffs at the sleeve but it has elastic to keep the heat in. I recommend this jacket especially if you get cold around your legs like me.

I really wanted a Canada Goose coat but the price is a non starter. This coat is a fraction of the cost and it’s a great choice for covering up leggings on the way to the studio in winter. However: the back puffs out at the waist a little bit, the upper sleeves are over stuffed, the hood is unwieldy and the length is to my ankles. I will still probably keep it, because it accomplishes its purpose. If you’re short like me, you could get a Snug Sack and open up the bottom seam. It’s about the same effect.

I’m 5'5", and this coat falls about three inches above my ankle—much longer than expected. Because of the length, the bottom zippers need to be opened to walk comfortably. I do love how warm it is, the excellent rain protection, and the full, removable hood. That said, when fully zipped, the coat is very long and not very tailored, giving it a “sleeping bag” look. I’ll probably keep it because the warmth is fantastic and it can double as a blanket for outdoor events—but definitely be aware of the length before purchasing.

Bought this jacket for 30-40 degree weather and it kept me super warm! I am 5’7” and it hit me mid calf which is exactly what I wanted. It is a little large in the mid section but that is better than snug when you are wearing layers. Nice deep pockets. I’ve had no use for the hood so I can’t speak to that but I have washed it and it washed really well.
