Varina Leather Flat

I tried so hard- bandaged my ankles, used "second skin" - the inside of the back my my flats are stained red from blood. I really wanted to love them. Have never had shoes rip my feet up so intensely.

I love this style. I wear ballerina flats almost everyday thus the heel doesn't bother me. My "Varinas" are mostly pastel colors since I don't wear them with very formal outfit. I prefer the "Vera" for formal occasions. I wear my Varinas with summer dresses. The almond shaped toes and bows still make them dressier than many other flats. I have very thin and bony feet thus I love Salvatore Ferragamo flats. They are made with very thick leather so they stay in shape for many years.

I absolutely love these flats! I'm used to wearing AGL flats, so not many shoes can impress me in terms of comfort. I am a US 7.5. I first purchased these in black in the C width in 7.5 and also the purple in B width size 8. I have to say, I thought my feet were on the wide side, but the size 8 B widths are MUCH more comfortable. I think it's because the C was so wide it kept rubbing my pinky toe. The 8 Bs are very comfortable! Some women cannot wear the Varinas and be comfortable, so I must be one of the lucky ones who can. My flats molded to my feet and make my feet look dainty and ladylike. I love my AGLs, but the shape is a little strange since the captoe always appears to turn inwards. If you have a chance, try these on in a store for your size since I thought I would like the C width, but it turns out it was worse. I can dress these up or down. I now own them in four colors and am contemplating ordering the morning rose. I'm still waiting for them to come out with a kelly green again! Would love a green!

I own 3 pair of Ferragamo shoes. 2 Varina and a pair of heels. I wanted to add some additional Varina flats in summer shades to my summer wardrobe for work so I ordered about pair in different colors and sizes (I’m usually between a 10.5 and 11) directly from Ferragamo as Nordstrom didn’t have my sizes in stock. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Sizing was WAAAY off (they were literally a half to full size too big and flopping off my feet annd I have a wider foot) and the patent leather felt and looked differently (cheap) than the ones I have currently. The now even sniffer to on top of the shoes instead of kind of being lower and closer to the shape of the toe. If you didn’t own pairs from earlier years you might not notice the difference, but there is a difference. Sadly, I returned them all. Can’t explain it but it was not the same refined, sleek leather and styling. They looked cheap and clunky. The box and packing is different too. These shoes are now about a $100 more than they used to be and the quality was very disappointing.

I'm on my second pair of Varina flats, and I like them very much. They are versatile, comfortable (after a brief break-in period), and can be dressed up or down. I will say my second pair just arrived, and I was disappointed to find the insole isn't properly glued in, which means that when I take my shoe off, the insole comes out with my foot. This isn't a structural issue and can certainly be fixed. However, I don't think this should happen on a pair of shoes that cost almost $500.

Beautiful, quality, classic flat. I have never ordered a "wide" width shoe in my life but definitely think the D-width fits the best. I typically wear either an 8 or 8.5 in US sizes. The 8D fit perfectly. The 8C (available in more colors) is a little snug - not sure if it will stretch over time.....
