manufacture error?
It seems quite durable and firm but the entrance part of the shoe fits quite oddly that it bruised the front part of my medial malleolus. I don't know how it will fit after breaking in.
My biggest complaint is with the shoelaces. My left pair is okay but the right one (left in the photo) has a manufacturing error. The rubber cap that should stay in the middle is stuck on one side. I tried to adjust it by balancing out the shoelace portion but a part of the shoelace is GLUED to the surface inside and won't allow me to move it. I checked if the other one also had the shoelace fixed but it wasn't and I was able to move it however I wanted. It seems like the right pair is the one not working properly.
I loved the sleek design of the shoe but the overall quality is quite disappointing.

Best Balance for all terrain
These are my third pair of Wings. They have been reliable and super stable. I have ankle issues, and these shoes are the ones offering me the best performance.
Looking forward to my new ones. Or maybe the XT-6... not sure yet

Comfortable
The XT Wings are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I’m onto my second pair and will not hesitate to purchase more in the future.
In my opinion these shoes fit true to size and are a little wider than the popular XT6 and similar to the XT4 models. I love the stealthy look of the triple black colourway that allows me to wear these with any type of outfits without having to match colours. The XT Wings are versatile enough whether I’m hiking/camping, out casually and even business casual.
The Salomon quick lace system is second to none and is so convenient. The fabric is very sturdy and robust which makes them a little warmer in hotter temps. The tread is long lasting and has great grip and stability in hiking and trail running environments. The Ortholite insoles included on many models are very comfortable. Durability is not an issue with these shoes.

comfortable but terribly low build-quality!
Though it fits perfectly and it is one of my favorite daily shoes, I have to complain about its low build-quality! I bought this pair about half year ago (in the beginning can see glue traces in the sims), and wore them frequently for going to classes, so nothing rough, yet some connections are falling apart already.
It's a shame for this highly priced pair of shoes!
