Sabrina Corset Fit & Flare Dress

I never write reviews but this dress was amazing for my Pre-Easter Sunday Napa brunch. It's so comfortable and flattering. The thigh slit was the perfect height and looked great in pictures. I hope House of CB considers making this dress in other colors. This dress was a size large in the D-E cup.

I just wore this dress to a very hot outdoor wedding where I got so many compliments! The dress is beautiful but was also very comfortable! I also felt like it was a bit bigger compared to most House of CB dresses. I know their sizing is all over the place but most of their items run small while this one was actually true to size, if not even a little big in the waist for me. For reference, I am pretty much always a size small, except for House of CB. I have had House of CB size small dresses fit me perfectly, I have had size medium dresses fit me perfectly and I have even had House of CB dresses in a size large fit me perfectly. Their sizing is not consistent at all but this dress felt pretty true to size.

After reading the very mixed reviews on this dress and the other corset dress varieties by this brand, I decided it was worth trying the dress out. I can definitely see the problem areas that most customers described but overall, it looked great once I made some minor modifications. It would be great if the designer took comments like these to improve on the product bc it is a hot dress when executed perfectly. My notes: As noted in other reviews, this dress is made of a medium weight fabric and has zero give. So if you don’t meet the waist and hip measurements exactly, go a size up and prepare to have it altered. The fabric weight also means it’s not going to flow in the wind like you are a goddess but it hangs perfectly to show some leg and accentuate the flare of the skirt. I have a larger bust so I had to order the larger chest option. I wish the designer considered that designing a dress intended to not require a bra, means that the dress straps and neckline drawstring will have to do some extra work. The designer opted for elastic band straps ( 1ish” elastic band with fabric on the outside) while the elastic allows for some flexibility of boob to shoulder distance, it does nothing to hold them up. The stretch stitch that was used on the straps immediately started to pop when I was adjusting the girls. The straps might as well have been groaning under the weight. On that note, the drawstring seam started to pop too, while I was trying to adjust the neckline. Probably need to use a reinforced stitch next time. But thank you for using the dress fabric as the drawstring and not some satin string which would have easily broken. The cup shape was my biggest issue. At first I was having a hard time figuring out where the center point of my boobs were supposed to sit, because the darts of the bust cup have distinct points. For a larger cup size on a very low neckline, those dart points do not line up correctly. They are too low which makes the placement of the bust line a bit uncertain. After shifting the dress on my torso a bit, I just ignored the darts and sat the dress where it felt comfortable. Then I stitched the darts to a natural curve on my bust. Then the dress looked like it properly fit, as a $225 dress should. In summary: (1) buyer be very careful with measurements. (2) the straps need to be re-designed. (3) reinforced stitching at the top (4) for the love of fashion, harsh points have no business on bust darts. Please fix this. As a personal style note, this dress would look cute with an extra layer of a little bit of petticoat (with the slit cut too)

I really really loved the fit on this dress. The waist area made me look so snatched and created a very flattering figure. Unfortunately the cup area was not good. I have 36DD size cups and my chest was almost fully slipping out. there is no support and it really looked like my chest was going to spill out with any movements I made. I used some boob take to try to make it work better but it still didn't feel like enough support. It does run smaller so be mindful. It's not you, its the dress. The material is so thick and lovely really looks so elegant! I hope they make bigger sizes one day!

This is the first House of CB dress that feels true to size and actually fits me. I've always felt awkwardly between Small and Medium for their dresses and never really found one that fit well, while a 4/small in other brands was usually perfect. For reference, I got the Small D/E. I'm 5'1", 120 lbs, and my measurements are 36/26/36. It falls a tad longer on me due to my height, but I don't mind. The material has a bit of stretch and the corset cinches the waist nicely. Love this dress!
