Plus Size 1920s Wilshire Flapper Day Dress

I sized up in this dress according to the measurements as there is no stretch in the material. It fits lovely across the bust and waist but was a bit looser in the hip area which I don't mind at all. I've had to have it altered as the body was too long for me which made the ivory sash sit lower and the length was then longer which made it look odd.

This dress is super cute and fits the 1920s day dress five perfectly. As others have noted the fabric is very thin and nearly sheer because of that a slip is required. The neck line is also quite low, but the slip takes care of that as well. I usually wear a 2X but I bought the 3X based on the recommendations of other reviewers. It was a good call. For reference, I am 5’7” tall and weigh 242 pounds. My chest is 49”, waist is 44”, and hips are 48”. (I believe there’s a special place in heaven for reviewers who leave that information for comparison sake.) The top fit great, but I could’ve taken in the waist and hips slightly. I didn’t bother to alter the dress though, and I was really happy with it for our event. I got a lot of compliments and it was nice to be one of the more uniquely and authentically dressed guests at a 1920s 100th birthday party.
