Pleated Chino Pants

Fits a bit large but is a great casual pant for the office or for going out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in two sizes because in my experience Madewell/J.Crew pants run large with vanity sizing. I am normally a 31 waist in other brands and sure enough the 31 waist in this pant was too large and looked too baggy. The 30 not only fit better in the waist but also looked less baggy. I am 5'11" and the inseam is long but it looks fine rolled up. I wish Madewell pants came in lengths. The quality of these pants is wonderful, lightweight but sturdy and crisp feeling. I normally am not a fan of twill chinos but the quality of this material really makes a difference and these are great! The pleat also adds a slightly dressier touch; they work for casual or dressier settings.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these in a 32 and they were HUGE. All other pants I own are a 32 waist. Also bought these dark driftwood color and when received I thought they sent me the wrong color. The driftwood is more of a light khaki than a dark brown.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this 100% cotton material is something you can see and feel. It just feels a bit more crisp and durable than other chino material. I'm hopeful it doesn't fray and get holes as quickly as other brands. I wish these pants came in different lengths as these are too long for me and I have to roll them up, which isn't a terrible look but I would have preferred not to. Anyway a good value for the sale price I got them for. My experience is that Madewell and J.Crew pants tend to run large in the waist by about 1 inch. I wear a 31 in other brands and the 30 is best for these.

I bought the 31 in waist in Dark Driftwood. Nowhere on the website does it say the inseam so it was a bit of a risk. After washing and air drying my inseam came out to 29 inches. With the high rise this will fit guys of average height fine but will come up short on the tall boys. There is about an inch of extra material in the hem that could likely be let out by a tailor. The material is soft and feels durable but it is very wrinkled after machine washing. You will definitely want to put these in the dryer to get the wrinkles out.
