Oliveta Wedge Sandal (Women)

It is not often these days to be inspired by the quality of craftsmanship of a shoe, no matter what price point. However, these Pedro espadrille wedges deserve a moment of silence and celebration. Honestly. Pedro is knocking it out of the park this season but he always has delivered quality craftsmanship for the 16 years I’ve been a customer. This OLIVETA WEDGE SANDAL in White Petitgrain Is uniquely beautiful. I bought all 3 colors in a size 8 (normally wear a 7 or 7.5) and found the Navy pair too large. I’d say the Navy fits more slightly large or true to size. It’s because the Navy leather expands with wear - it has more give than the White leather. The White leather does not have much give so I sized up. I am ok with the White leather remaining more firm (but still comfortable - the leather hugs you!) because I do not want my foot sliding forward down the wedge as I walk. I like the support. Speaking of support, I have HIGH ARCHES and the OLIVETA WEDGE perfectly supports me. Those with high arches will understand. I find the OLIVETA comfortable in which to walk. My feet feel snug in the wedge and the ~3 inch heel is not too high so I can walk in comfort and confidence. I buy and keep only shoes that I L-O-V-E and this wedge is a keeper - 100%. This is a timeless, classic and beautiful piece.

I wanted these all summer and once I saw they were marked down, I thought I would treat myself. Unfortunately, when they came they were just too tight and I could not rationalize keeping them with the hopes that I could "break them in". They were just too expensive not to be perfect. Sadly, they got returned *SIGH*.
